But ...I agree with you that raid frames is crucial. But how do you get use to it? I have tried AG_Unitframes and Grid so far .. and both of them, made healing MORE difficult (I've been doin gthe holy thing lately instead of shadow priesting) instead of easier -- since it threw my rhythem off to see heals as over heal BEFORE casting .. or to not get use to the different color flashes. In ZA yesterday night when I first tried to use Grid, I wound up healing a full 500 heals per secound UNDER our best healer, when i am usually right on his heels, heal wise. Add to that bad luck with where i was standing and lag at the wrong times, I died early and often standing in a fire bomb. I've always seen priest sights, for both shadow and holy talk about add-ons -- but none of them offer suggestions for how to get use to them once they're installed. Since you can't normally SEE raid frames until you're in a raid -- and thus can't really practice with them .. any advice?Christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13589216084533064707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8245048376029073452.post-18933764158583932252008-08-15T16:40:00.000-04:002008-08-15T16:40:00.000-04:00You can safely nuke Nightbane in the air if you ha...You can safely nuke Nightbane in the air if you have a bunch of capable AoE'ers that can down the skeletons really fast. My guild is fortunate enough to have a pally offtank and 2 mages in the raid on many nights, and those three are good enough to tank and blizz down the skellys while the hunter, lock, and spriest nuke him out while in the sky. I like the fact that you cover the "Just hit 70" stuff. It has been a good read and I hope that you keep up the good work. It did 2k damage for a cost of one global cooldown or basically as much as mind flay but taking only half the time. I need 10 more Crimson Spinels, and even a single one would have been nice, but half of those tards are just going to AH them or let them sit in their bags. /cry

It could have been worse, though. SWP uptime was pretty decent, in perfect world it should have had around 195 ticks but 182 isn't too bad.

Because of VT dropping you lost about 2300 mana over the fight (damage done/20 = theoretical amount of mana VT should have returned). That's almost an extra pot for each of your group members :)

Of course you could have used more MB and SWD over the fight but as you are not yet on the level where you can cut mind flays without having serious mana issues I guess you are pretty OK there.

As for the other SP, he seemed to have better gear and talent spec than you but his dot uptimes were much worse than yours so I'd say even though you didn't do as much damage you were more useful to the raid :)Ho Hohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00177815588184912351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8245048376029073452.post-10691453585828423512008-07-25T05:31:00.000-04:002008-07-25T05:31:00.000-04:00"As for my spec ... you have yet another good poin..."As for my spec ... you have yet another good point. I sigh again. I assume that you're thinking along these lines?"

Yes, something similar. Though as you don't have much haste yet and not enough hit to get one point from shadow focus you might move one point from imp. MB to shadow weaving. At 3/5 it can be a bit difficult to keep it on boss if there is lots of movement.

The spec change isn't too big jump. Silence is nice to have but often nearly useless. Blackout is also nice but hard to rely on. Both are good for pvp, though. In place of those you get quite a bit more damage so you can kill things faster and because of that they can hurt you less :)Ho Hohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00177815588184912351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8245048376029073452.post-14515813395915584992008-07-24T09:56:00.000-04:002008-07-24T09:56:00.000-04:00Yep, trinkets and rings are definitely on the list...Yep, trinkets and rings are definitely on the list. But, being gear that I can't count on, I didn't list them here. It kills me that my only blues and greens are rings and trinkets. Le sigh.

I've been keeping an eye out for the Blessings cards on the AH, but they have been few and far between. (You certainly get points for putting it in terms of gold-per-dmg, tho.)

As for my spec ... you have yet another good point. I sigh again. I assume that you're thinking along these lines?

I'm bummed that I'll be slowing down my non-raiding PvE (ImpMB isn't really going to help me down world trash any faster, and I'll miss Spirit Tap terribly), but I guess it really does have to be done. Losing Silence is going to be rough, though, as I still use it in Kara (R&J) and other places for interrupting healing trash.

Bleh. Going to a raiding spec is one of those things that, in my head, helps define the line between "casual" and "hard core". Badge trinket is really good and if you could get the darkmoon one as second it could last you until the end of BT. Darkmoon one should cost around 1k and is pretty much constant +80 spelldamage on bossfights. That comes down to around 12.5g per spelldamage and is probably less than most enchants.

Of course timbal's from mgt would be a really good thing also.

The ring is a bit trickier thing. You could put 60 badges under it but it wouldn't probably be very wise. You can keep on running Kara for the chess ring, it wouldn't be that bad either.Ho Hohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00177815588184912351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8245048376029073452.post-22647670959227418592008-07-23T10:15:00.000-04:002008-07-23T10:15:00.000-04:00Yeah, on fights where I can use VE without worry o...Yeah, on fights where I can use VE without worry of overtaking the tank on threat, I definitely feel more comfortable using SWD. Unfortunately, I outgear most of the groups that I run with, and can easily overtake them in threat without trying. I look forward to fights where I can put up VE and not worry about it, but I'm not quite there yet. Even on the OP Kara run that we did last night, I still stayed right below the MT on Omen for many of the fights, most of the time without VE up.

I can't wait for Wrath where Shadowform has built-in threat reduction.apanthropesphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14737643841213452002noreply@blogger.com
